Who Am I? • I’ve worked as an Engineer (many different kinds) • I’ve worked in other technical fields • I’ve been a Manager and a Supervisor • I’ve managed and dealt with budgets of millions to 10’s of millions of dollars • I have chaired and/or held office in Chapters, Sections, Geo Councils, Societies, various BOD and OU Committees, and Major OUs

We Need to Establish an IEEE-USA Sponsored Continuum of Education Program • A K thru 12 Program anchored around the IEEE’s Teacher In-Service Program • A College/University Program addressing Professionalism • A Young Professionals Program based on IEEE endorsed courses/training • A career program

  4. Young Professional/Career Program • Soft Skills • Basic personal • Supervisory/Management • Technical • We need to provide or obtain what we need

IEEE-USA Issues We Should be Addressing • Engineer supply • Older engineers • Undergraduate education; is engineering education adequate? • Enhancement of status of members of the profession • Portable pensions in the U.S. • Employer support of employee’s involvement in technical and professional activities
