  1. “Remember Lot’s Wife” Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed. In that day, he who is on the housetop, and his goods are in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise the one who is in the field, let him not turn back. Remember Lot’s wife (Lk. 17:28-32). Luke 17:32

  2. Lot’s Wife Perished AlthoughShe Was the Wife of a Righteous Man. “…and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked -- for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds” (2 Pet. 2:7-8). “For every man shall bear his own burden” (Gal. 6:5).

  3. Lot’s Wife Perished AlthoughShe Was Warned of Danger. So it came to pass, when they had brought them outside, that he said, “Escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be destroyed” (Gen. 19:17). “Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him” (Heb. 2:1-3).

  4. We Are Warned of Danger and Told What the Lord Expects of Us. For Moses truly said to the fathers, “The LORD your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren. Him you shall hear in all things, whatever He says to you. And it shall be that every soul who will not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people” (Acts 3:22-23). Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears (Acts 20:31).

  5. Lot’s Wife Perished AlthoughShe Made Some Effort To Be Saved. And while he lingered, the men took hold of his hand, his wife’s hand, and the hands of his two daughters, the LORD being merciful to him, and they brought him out and set him outside the city. So it came to pass, when they had brought them outside, that he said, “Escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be destroyed” (Gen. 19:16-17). But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God” (Lk. 9:62).

  6. Lot’s Wife Perished AlthoughShe Committed Only One Sin. But his wife looked back behind him, and she became a pillar of salt (Gen. 19:26). For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all (Jas. 2:10). “Can just one sin cause me to be lost?” How many sins were charged against -- Adam & Eve? Nadab & Abihu? Uzzah? Simon in Acts 8?

  7. Lot’s Wife Perished Although She: • Was the wife of a righteous man. • Was warned of danger. • Made some effort to be saved. • Committed only one sin. When told -- “Remember Lot’s Wife” remember these facts!

  8. Listen To Jesus! • Believe -- Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins. (John 8:24) • Confess -- Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 10:32) • Repent -- I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. (Luke 13:3) • Be Baptized -- And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” (Mark 16:15-16)
