Activities conducted as part of the Erasmus Mundus eLINK programmeAcademic year 2009-2010 Meeting with ambassadors 72 incomers welcomed at ULL: 59 students and 13 staff membersCommunication and dissemination:* inaugural ceremony, in the presence of the Italian, Thai and French university Presidents and of the Honorary Consul of Thailand in Lyon (October 2009)* one television show called “Cité Campus” and Prof. Bouras’ interview, in order to present the programme to a large audience (October 2009)* a meeting with ambassadors and consuls from partner Asian countries (Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, China), along with local officials (at ULL, May 2010)* a end-of-stay award ceremony in the presence of ULL Vice-President for International Affairs (July 2010) * 3 “Memorandums of Understanding” signed: with Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh* 4 publications in the international conferences SKIMA 09 and SKIMA 10 and 10 publications in 8 other international conferences and 2 international journals * related projects: the Erasmus Mundus Action 2 “Sustainable eTourism” project in cooperation with the current eLink partners from Italy, Thailand and UK (Staffordshire Univ.) and 8 additional partners from EU (2) and Asia (5).Seminars and study visits:* weekly seminars for masters and PhD scholars, in order for them to present their work to the professors* several teaching seminars held by ULL professors and invited international professors from Brazil, Mexico, etc. (at Novotel)* 2 technical seminars held by invited industrial partners (Renault Trucks, Assetium…)* a visit of an industrial site of the Renault Trucks company* 2 professors from eLink partner universities (Prof. Hossain from UoB, Prof. Chakpitak from CMU) invited for a one-month stay as guest professors (paid for by ULL funds)Cultural:* specially-designedFrench classes for all eLink scholars (one-semester class)*a Food and Music Festival inviting all Asian and French students (and staff members) to share their traditions* 3 ski week-ends and days-out in the Alps mountains* a cultural visit of Paris (Versailles palace, Eiffel tower, Louvre museum)* an eLink football World Cup “students vs professors”* several cultural events celebrating Asian traditions (Asian New Year…) and French traditions (Christmas, “galette des rois”…)* eLink students benefited from ULL “Alter Ego” welcome programme for foreign students
