  2. The Looks • In the WWII Memorial there are 4,000 stars • Three of the military medals are stars

  3. Symbolism • Almost everything in the military has symbolism • The oat design on the wreaths in the WWII Memorial symbolizes strength and the wheat symbolizes power • On the original Medal of Honor, clusters of Laurel Leaves symbolize victory and clusters of oak symbolize strength

  4. History • The WWII Memorial’s first design was in 1999 • The original Medal of Honor was established in 1861
