Brief Review • Disk galaxies exit • The stars in disk galaxies move in predominately circular orbits. • Newton’s Laws and Universal Gravity tell us that the mass enclosed in spherical or cylindrical symmetry is determined by the velocity of orbiting bodies. • The mass as measured by light and the velocity of stars do not agree. • There must be lots of missing mass or one of the three equations must be changed. New Physics! MOND?
