Priority is given for the following 4 dossiers: • 4th Rail package: Interoperability and Safety for Railways • Air Passenger Rights • TEN-T guidelines/CEF regulation • Clean Power for Transport Proposed 'Roadworthiness Package' covering: Proposal on periodic roadworthiness tests for motor vehicles and their trailers and repealing Directive 2009/40/EC Proposal on the technical roadside inspection of the roadworthiness of commercial vehicles repealing Directive 2000/30/EC Proposal on registration documents for vehicles 3

  4. How it’s possible to cut down expenses for fuel in Road Cargo Companies? 1. Possibility - Strict control of fuel usage in Trucks. Installation of special equipment for control of fuel usage. With data collection about fuel usage in digital format and in real time. 2. Possibility - Special Eco driving course. Using GDE-matrix as a leaning model ,,Goals for Life, Skills for Living“ 4

  5. 1. Possibility - Strict control of fuel usage in Trucks For that purpose in truck must be installed: 1. Additional computer and connected with SIM card andspecial navigation system; 2. Digital device of fuel level control in truck tank. 3. Digital device of fuel measurement before the fuel pump. 5

  6. 2. Possibility - Special Eco driving course for Truck drivers. Once again - 5 Golden Rules of Eco driving 1. Anticipate Traffic Flow; 2. Shift up early; 3. Drive smoothly, using the highest possible gear; 4. Check tire pressures frequently at least once a month and before driving at high speed; 5. Consider any extra energy required costs fuel and money. 6

  7. Case study: LithuaniaAnnual drivers‘ fuel challenge competition Each of the test distance covered by ~ 40 km on public roads (mixed mode: city / countryside). During the training, the average achieved fuel savings 10-20%;Low fuel economy - 5%;The maximum fuel economy - 26.2%; VOLVO declares that aftereffective training of driving, fuel costs can be reduced by ~ 12%. 7

  9. Question of quality – Who will Train the Trainer? For my opinion, Instructors of Training Institutes must have special international accreditation that he passed special eco driving course and he is ready to work as a professional Eco driving trainer.
