BACKGROUND • Competition’s goal will be to design and create a robot who is able to climb up an industrial chimney ladder. • This challenge will be available to anyone who would like to develop their soft & hard skills, and creativity through this extra-curricular technical education opportunity. • Teachers and university facultiesand staff will be encouraged to take part in the projects bysupporting and facilitating their student‘s creativity. • This challenge is available to everyone, who dares to test his/hers creative and technical skills.

  3. COMPETITION TECHNICAL CONDITIONS • The Robotswill need to be able to climb anexternal environment (weatherproof). • The Robotswill need to be self propelled. • The Robotswill need to react and adopt to external stimuli’s. • The Robots will be secured with a supporting rope. • The Robotsmaximumweight will be limited to 15 kg. • The Minimum climb rate is 5 meters in 120 seconds. • The Robots must not damage the surface of the chimney nor endanger its surroundings.

RULES OF THE COMPETITION • All registered robots will undergo a technical inspection prior to the start of the competition. • The competition will consist of 2 rounds: • QUALIFICATION Round • MAIN COMPETITION Round • Robots will compete in the following categories: • Overall winner, Winner in Category I, Winner in Category II, Winner in Category III • Climbing track lenght is 15 meters. • Starting order will be decided at random

AWARDS • First three places in each category will be awarded: • Financial Award Category I (Secondary Schools) • 1st place: 3000€ • 2nd place: 2000€ • 3rd place: 1000€ • Financial Award Category II (Universities): • 1st place: 3000€ • 2nd place: 2000€ • 3rd place: 1000€ • Financial Award Category III (Individuals): • 1st place: 3000€ • 2nd place: 2000€ • 3rd place: 1000€ • The Robot with the best time be declared the OVERALL WINNER! • Overal winner‘s award: 2000€

  6. COMPETITION INFORMATION • The Competition will be held : October 3-4th 2014. • Place: Cassovar Business Centre Complex, Žriedlová 13, Košice, Slovakia, Europe. • Robots are to be registered by :June 20th 2014. • Registration forms will be available on the event‘s website. • The maximum number of competing teams is limited to 21. • There is no registration fee. • Securing of robots will be provided by the event management (free of charge). • Competition is open to anyone, be it a single individual, a team, or organisation.
