  2. “He will be my boy”, said Geppetto, an old, lonely and quiet man. “His name will be Pinocchio”. Standing in his workshop in a small village in Italy, Geppetto created Pinocchio out of wood.

  3. Pinocchio, a small little boy made out of wood was more than just a puppet. He was alive! Geppettowas thrilled. He and Pinocchio loved to spend time together.

  4. Pinocchio loved to walk around the village and Geppetto trusted him to run errands. However, Geppetto realized that Pinocchio was not an honest puppet. When Pinocchio lied, his nose would grow. With each lie that he told, his nose grew larger until it was very long.

  5. Once Pinocchio began to tell the truth, his nose slowly went back to the normal size. He felt very embarrassed and learned that if he wanted Geppetto’s trust, that he should tell the truth.

  6. Geppetto was relieved to see Pinocchio’s nose return to normal size and was confident that Pinocchio had learned an important lesson. Geppetto and Pinocchio lived a happy, truthful life together.

  8. Stockbroker Bernard Madoff sits in his office. The old, lonely Bernie is slow and fragile. He was just admiring the New York City skyline. He wishes for a companion to help him become a huge success in the Big Apple.

  9. Bernie creates Pinocchio, his new companion and puppet. He instils the puppet with charm, business savvy, and most importantly, the ability to lie. Together, they will make a fortune at the expense of others.

  10. Pinocchio became a huge hit on Wall Street and trusting clients began to hand over their money by the millions. Bernie noticed that as he became richer, his nose began to grow.

  11. Poor Bernie’s nose grew so long that people became suspicious of his business practices. Investors grew nervous when an official investigation was announced. Under worldwide attention, it was revealed that the deceiving puppetmaster had used poor Pinocchio’s talent for lying to defraud good people.

  12. Sentenced to life in prison, Bernie realizes that he will never be truly happy
