  7. Accessibility • methods of transport, e.g. air, cruise • availability and frequency • travelling time • cost • suitability for the traveller, e.g. classes available, facilities provided • convenience, e.g. direct flights

  8. Destination facilities • natural attractions, e.g. mountains, beaches • built attractions, e.g. theme parks, museums • climate • local transport • accommodation (range, cost) • sport and entertainment • food and drink

  9. Culture • festivals, events, art, dance, music, religion, beliefs, customs and behaviour

  10. Customer types • leisure, e.g. families, couples, gap-year travellers, VFR • business • other, e.g. educational, medical

  12. What to do The different features and facilities of the chosen destination must be clearly identified. The significance of these to its popularity and appeal should be reviewed. This may include researching visitor numbers. An example of a response would be to comment on how visitor numbers have increased since significant new attractions or major events were introduced.

  13. D2 Evaluate how the selected destination has capitalised on its features and developed its facilities to attract different types of visitors from the UK.

  14. What to do • These features and facilities must be clearly evaluated to show how the destination has capitalised on its features, such as climate, natural attractions, and developed its facilities to attract different types of visitors.
