  2. Greek Roots Greek roots are word parts which come from the Greek language. When you learn the meaning of each word part (root word), you can figure out the meanings of words.

  3. Greek Root: Auto Auto = self Keywords: automatic, autograph, autobiography

  4. Greek Root: Chron • digraph ch is pronounced (k) Chron or chrono = time Keywords: synchronize, chronological

  5. Greek Root: Therm Therm = heat Keywords: thermometer, thermal

  6. Homophones Homophones = same sound Words which have the same or similar sound, but have different spellings & different meanings. ate/eight knight/night whale/wail meat/meet great/grate
