  3. PRACTICE TIMES • 4-5:30 Monday-Friday • Practice begins Fri Nov 18th We will practice Mon Nov 21 and Tue Nov 22. We will be off the rest of the week. • Practice will resume on Tue Jan 3 after Christmas Break Rain does not cancel practice. Thunder, lightening, and ice will. Check with your school or BJHS before assuming practice is cancelled.

  4. What do I need to do? • Physical (must be on file before you work out with team) • Insurance • Star Sportsmanship (code STAR 01303) • Eligibility • Concussion Form • Physical and Insurance Form (Madison City website) • STAR and Concussion (ahsaa.com)

  5. Fees • Fees are $450 per athlete • Discounts given for siblings involved • $250 for CC runners participating in track • Fund Raisers: • Cookie dough sale • Fence signs • Fees pay for uniform and all shared team expenses. It does not include shoes or sweats.

  6. Extra Cloth • Orders for extra cloth will be placed before Christmas and will be delivered before the first meet (early Dec). • Extra Cloth includes; sweats, spandex, workout shorts, t-shirts, etc, • Instructions will be given regarding ordering spikes, but there will not be a team order for spikes.

  7. Schedule • Meets will begin in mid-Dec and last until the end of April • We will not have a meet during Spring Break but will have one the Fri prior to the beginning of SB • We will have a home meet Fri before the Prom on Sat. • Most meets early in the season will be on Sat. Some meets later in the season will be on Fri and/or Sat • Junior High meets will be on Tue evening • Indoor Meets Dec 10, Dec 17, Jan 7, Jan 28, Feb 4, • We will take one week off and begin Outdoor the following week

  8. Outside Competitions • You may not compete as an independent or unattached during the season. This includes road races, invitational track meets, Club meets and the like. • You may compete in “club” teams in another sport during the season • Can you do both? • Yes, but with some reservations, communication with the coaching staff, and an understanding that no spot on the track team is guaranteed.

  9. Outside lessons/training • Outside lessons and training during the season are not recommended and are strongly discouraged. • If the athlete is giving their best effort at practice, outside training should not be necessary. This situation should be discussed in detail with the coaching staff.

  12. Certified Officials • Anyone interested in becoming a certified official should see me. We have two avenues for this, and I recommend both. One is through AHSAA and the other is through USATF. This will need to be done in Nov.
