The Basics Of Robots A robot is a helpful machine that has rules to follow 1 A robot can not harm a human or allow one to come to harm through inaction 2 A robot must follow orders given by a human unless this conflicts with the first law 3 A robot must protect it’s own existence as long as this does not conflict with the first two laws. These rule s were written by Isaac Asimov

  3. A short history of robots • The first person to think of robots was a play write named KarelCepek in his play “Rossum’sUniversal Robots” • Most early robots where made by clock makers and used for entertainment they were thought to be magic • In the 1940 computer got advanced because of world war two the started manufacturing and helping crack enemy code. • Today robots clean the house build cars entertain pretty much do anything

  4. How robots are made. • First the company plans the robot • Then they order parts • Then they put them on the assembly line • The robots assemble robots • They receive programming • They are sold to the public

  5. The anatomy of a robot • Robots like animal have organ but not made of cells but silicon. The brain is called a microcontroller. The nerve system is the breeder board this gets the programs where there going. The heart and stomach is the power it keeps its going. The eyes ears tongue nose and fingers are a series of sensors that control movement by sending messages to the microcontrollers. The skin is the casing.

  6. What a robot does • A robot is a helpful friend who works for you • No matter what a robot does what its programmed or told to do. • They clean entertain build destroy and explore.

  7. Why we have robots • We have robots because we are lazy/ disabled or unable to do what they do • They can help the disabled people by giving them help and new part. • They can do work to tedious for humans • They can work where we can not

  8. Robots of the future • A robot of the future will be very advanced it will have more processing power and could do more than one job at once • Many people fear the future robots thinking they could destroy the world but they can only do what we want them to so this is impossible
