  18. Topic 3: SAP Introduction Introduction to SAP Plant Maintenance (PM), Assets, Work Orders & Notifications

  19. SAP overview SAP is a modular, fully integrated system. • HR - Human Resources • MM - Materials Management • FI/CO - Finance / Controlling • SD - Sales & Distribution • PS - Project Systems • IM - Investment Management • PM - Plant Maintenance • BI - Business Intelligence • SRM - Supplier Relationship Management • IMS - Invoice Management System. Bolt-on systems to ECC:

  20. SAP ESRI ClickSoftware Syclo GDFO solution overview • Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) providing a graphical view of information • SAP including Plant Maintenance (PM) providing Asset information textually • ClickSoftware providing dispatch tools such as ClickPlan and ClickSchedule • Syclo mobile software for in field devices.

  21. Data in SAP Organisational Data Company Code (1000) Plant (1001,1005 etc) Work Centers (CLWM1OH1) Master Data Assets (Equipment) Cost Centers Task List Transactional Data Created with: Work Order Sales Order.

  22. Data types Transactional Data Master Data • Created and maintained by a limited number of end users and is shared across multiple applications • Equipment e.g. Valves, pipes, filters etc. would all be considered as Asset Master Data • The data remains constant over time, although some master data may need to be updated e.g. Update the status of an Asset from commissioned to de-commissioned. • Data associated with the processing of a business activity e.g. Creation of Work Orders, Purchase Orders, employee time data.

  23. Searching for Data • Direct Input – User will input the values directly in to the data entry field • Drop Down Menu – User has the ability to choose the data item from a list of drop down values • Matchcode – User can find information by selecting data from lists or using selection criteria. Data Entry Methods Data is input to SAP via data entry fields located in the screen body Direct Input Drop Down Menu Matchcode

  24. Organisational levels in SAP PM General Organisational Units • Location based and planning units. Maintenance Plant 1005 Planning Plant Work Center East Midland Work Center West Mids CLWM1OH1 Work Center Nth London Company Code Plant 1001 Plant 1004 Plant 1005 Costs Skills

  25. Asset hierarchy • Typical hierarchy for a Site: 1. Site e.g. Address 2. Asset Group e.g. Pipe 3. Asset e.g. 32MM Main Policy PE80 Road O/C

  26. General reporting • Work Status reports – Typically used to monitor the status and progress of Work Orders • Financial / Costing reports – Typically used to monitor time, costs and materials • Historical reports – Volumetric and statistical information, field data capture. General Reporting User Reports – Predefined Work Status Reports Financial / Costing Reports Historical Reports

  27. Topic 4: Getting started with ArcFM Designer This text box and image can be deleted and replaced with your own selection from DNA, the corporate image library.

  28. Systems integration DMS Attachments PM Livelink data storage Assets SD / CRM Customer Correspondence CLICK ESRI SYCLO

  29. ArcFM Designer • Designer will be used by the Design and Planning teams within Network Strategy and will be fully integrated with SAP PM • Designer will produce standard, efficient designs using Compatible Units (CUs) • Noticing and Permit compatible units will also be created automatically from the design.

  30. Benefits of ArcFM Designer • Remove multiple manual tasks in the design and analysis process creating more time for optioneering • Provide the ability to notify the relevant authorities impacted by Construction works, which means we can engage with third parties early on in the planning and design phase to support traffic management planning activities • Enable increased collaboration for the sharing of data and information between NG and the Alliances

  31. Benefits of ArcFM Designer cont’d • Automate the creation of Work Orders for Construction work, which will reduce the current manual intensive process and standardise the way designs are produced across all networks • Enable cost comparison of different design options, through the use of standard design templates, which will simplify and accelerate the overall design.

  32. Live demo: Log on to ArcFM Designer ArcFM Designer • The following demonstration will show how to log on to: • Log on to ArcFM Designer • Log off ArcFM Designer.

  33. Exercise 1: Log on to ArcFM Designer ArcFM Designer • Log on to ArcFM Designer • Log on • Log off.

  34. Topic 5: Menus and Toolbars This text box and image can be deleted and replaced with your own selection from DNA, the corporate image library.

  35. Menus and Toolbars Toolbars Stored Items Workflow Manager Table of Contents

  36. Stored Items • ArcFM Designer application uses Stored Displays which are preset settings for a specific roles • A Stored Display defines what can be: • Viewed • Digitised • Selected • Edited.

  37. Live demo: Display Stored Items ArcFM Designer • The following demonstration will show how to load and display Stored Items in ArcFM Designer.

  38. Exercise 2: Display Stored Items ArcFM Designer • Display Stored Items.

  39. Table of Contents (TOC) • Used to control which features are displayed, selected or digitised • The TOC displays information within a tab format • The four main tabs are: • Display • Selection • CUs • Graphics.

  40. Live demo: Table of Contents ArcFM Designer • The following demonstration will show how to display the Table of Contents in ArcFM Designer.

  41. Exercise 3: Table of Contents ArcFM Designer • Table of Contents.

  42. TOC - Display • The Display tab is used to control the displaying of the layers listed from the Stored Display • The layers can be turned on or off by ticking or un-ticking the checkbox at the side of each layer • By expanding a layer individual features can be turned on or off • By expanding individual feature classes the symbology used can be seen.

  43. Layers • Geographic data is represented in the map as a ‘Layer’ • The order of the layers is important. The layers at the top of the list are drawn on top of those underneath them • Layers are not, by default, visible over a certain scale. They can also be set to be invisible under a certain scale • Attributes can be displayed in Multiple Layers.

  44. Filter and Layer priority • The layer order defines the display priority e.g. The layer at the top of the list is shown on top of the layers below • The list can be edited (drag and drop) to reorder list Before After Example: • Before - Design Polygon is underneath work request – Not visible • After - Design Polygon is now above work request – Now visible.

  45. Live demo: Filters and Layers priority ArcFM Designer • The following demonstration will show how to use the Filter and Layers priority in ArcFM Designer.

  46. Exercise 4: Filters and Layers priority ArcFM Designer • Filters and Layers priority.

  47. TOC - Selection • The Selection tab is used to control which Attributes can be selected • Attributes can be selected using: The ‘Star Trek’ selection tool The select features tool

  48. Live demo: Selection ArcFM Designer • The following demonstration will show how to use the manipulate Attribute Selections within ArcFM Designer.

  49. Exercise 5: Selection ArcFM Designer • Selection.

  50. Adding Toolbars and Icons • Toolbars can be added, deleted and moved depending on users requirements • Toolbars can be customised by adding icons from the customize list.
