  3. Getting Video Seen • Use a Television Station • Run a station • Send a station video • Other • Streaming Video on Web Site • Check out on DVD or VHS

  4. Kinds of Stations: PEG • Public Access: for use by general public • administered by cable operator or a party designated by franchising authority. • Educational: used by educational institutions for educational programming. • Time typically allocated by the franchising authority or cable operator among schools, colleges and universities. • Governmental: programming by organs of local government. • Franchising authority directly controls these channels.

Getting a Station • Work with a Municipality • P: Talk to or Lobby • Google: getting peg station • E: Talk to, work with another educational institution • G: Talk to as an ally • A community has a right to one • The rules come from the municipality or controlling organization. • www.publicaccesstv.net

Library System Works With Cable • Free if they have a program • TW had done promos for museums for $0. • For Money if they don’t • TW partnership based on Riverway (Media sponsor) & a kids cooking show • ... But needed to have some money • $6,000 for seven libraries. • $2,500 per additional library
