  4. Vocabulary • Adore- I adore barbecue! It’s absolutely delicious. • Don’t mind- I don’t mind vegetables with dip. If it’s around, I’ll eat it. • Don’t care for- I don’t care for sweets. They ruin your teeth. • Can’t stand- I can’t stand onions. If I had to choose between a slap in the face and eating an onion, give me a slap. • Refreshing- gives you energy (시원하다) • Tasty- tastes good • Yummy (informal)- tastes good • Savory- leaves a lasting, pleasing taste in your mouth after you eat it

  5. Vocabulary 2 • Spicy- 맵다 • Salty- 짜다 • Sweet- 달다 • Bitter- 쓰다 • Sour- 시다 • Tangy- 톡쏘다

  6. Likes and Dislikes • If you can count the thing you like/ dislike, add –s to the end of it. • I like vegetables • I don’t like onions • If you can’t count it, don’t add –s. • I love rice. • I hate fatty beef.

  7. Try it Add -s to foods that need it. • Pizza • Onion • Pear • Noodle • Soup • Vegetable • Sushi • Hamburger

  8. Tell your partner! Tell your partner about a food you like and why. Tip: When giving your reason, say… • It is when the food is uncountable • I like beef because it’s savory. • They are when the food is countable • I adore grapes because they’re sweet and delicious.

  9. Common Mistakes Favorite vs. like • You like many things, but your favorite is what you like the most! What’s your favorite ice cream? • Correct: Chocolate is my favorite (ice cream). • Correct: Chocolate! • Incorrect: I like chocolate (ice cream).
