  3. Twitter is the perfect place for collaboration Sharing experiences, new ideas, and lesson plans What works and what doesn’t work Chat rooms

  4. Parent/TeacherCorrespondence Tweeting is also known as microblogging (remember…only 140 characters). Teachers can quickly tweet a homework assignment, project reminder, teaching moment of the day or even school emergency without taking time to log in and keep up a blog. Parents can have up to the minute information if they follow you. Teachers may want to keep their Twitter account strictly professional or set up an account that will only be used with your class.

  5. Use Twitter for Professional Emotional Support The days can be long. Behavior can be erratic. The school year seems neverending around May 1st. Huge pressure for standardized testing. The new common core curriculum is overwhelming. Share these feelings! Vent! Tweet! Find release and some much needed energy! Breathe! Breathe! Breathe!

  6. #edchat As an educator, #edchat is a must. Anyone who has an education related topic they want to explore can join in a tweet conversation. Just be sure that hashtag #edchat is at the end of your tweets. You can contribute thoughts, links, questions, ideas, anecdotes, and arguments. Check it out!

  7. Advice from Experienced Tweeters • Stick with it a while. There is a learning curve. • Ask questions, give answers, share challenges AND successes. Join in! • Use it as a professional development tool. Use it for getting information from others.
