Heading (about 100 point) Presenters (about 72 point) Typefaces are (in order of preference): Serif: Minion or Times or Garamond Sans Serif: Gil Sans or Arial or Helvetica HINTS: • Keep things SIMPLE • Avoid using complicated background fills or images • Avoid using drop shadows • Don’t over-clutter with text - it’s a poster, not a thesis • Type size for body text should be about 30 point • Use a contrasting type or colour for your headings • Scanned images should be about 150-200 dpi at print size < 20mm margin - don’t let text get too close to the edge
