  3. Justification • National Commission for Science and Technology would be an apex body • Secretariat • Director General • absence has had an impact • How to proceed • realign the S&T Policy with MGDS

  4. Goal • an updated S&T Policy

  5. Objectives • identify gaps and align the S&T Policy with • new developments in S&T; • MGDS • new GOM policy format; • propose appropriate institutional arrangements for the implementation of the S&T Policy; and • propose amendments to the S&T Act of 2003

  6. Implementation Plan • Hold preparatory meetings; • Establish steering and technical committees; • Identify and engage a technical experts (Consultants); • Conduct technical consultative workshops; • Submit to Cabinet for approval; • Finalise S&T Policy document; and • Launch the S&T Policy.
