  13. Only 41% of Carroll County adults engage in regular, moderate physical activity.

  14. More than 58% of CarrollCounty adults are overweight or obese.

  15. Less than 1/3 of Carroll high school students take a Physical Education class.

  16. Carroll County is #4 in Maryland in percentage of obese adults.

  17. Why try to improve?

  18. Research shows: More time spent on family and health = A happier, healthier life.

  19. More active & better nutrition = less chance of chronic illness… • For example: • - Diabetes • Heart Disease • Certain Cancers • - Stroke

  20. More active & better nutrition = More energy!

  22. Find physical activities that you enjoy, and take time to enjoy them!

  23. Activity Options: • Recreation Council Programs • Sports and Fitness Centers • Private Programs for dance, swimming, karate, cheerleading, gardening, walking, etc. • School Sports and P.E. Classes

  24. More Options: • Senior Activity Center Programs • Workplace Programs • Individual Exercise & Activity • Games & Activities as a Family
