    3. Assessment ‘Planning’ Implementation* Analysis Evaluation * assessed through teacher observation of your work Mark criteria are broadly based on the same criteria as AS coursework

    4. Planning week (17th – 21st November) at the end of this week you should… …have chosen an investigation topic …have planned 4 weeks practical work in outline …have written ‘requisition slips’ for chemicals and apparatus that you’ll need for the first (preliminary) week …have researched the theoretical background for your investigation

    5. Guidance Refer to the web site for: Planning guidance Marking criteria – how the ‘Plan’ is marked for example Recent comments from the examiner – how to avoid making common mistakes Exemplar investigations

    6. Briefly…a plan will include Risk assessments A bibliography Details of your intended work Theoretical background Synoptic evidence

    7. Which investigation should I do? Something that interests you Something that is a challenge yet is understandable for you Something that has enough scope for 4 weeks work Reaction kinetics – recommended!
