  1. Why do we ask you to do a project?

    Projects are part of Stewardship – they allow you to delve deeply into an area that you are interested in or perhaps have a passion about Provide experiential learning - an opportunity to apply and reinforce the skills we will be teaching you If you choose to be a part of a team, they give you the chance to collaborate and work in groups – a necessary skill in today’s world
  2. TypesofProjects Can be a defined project with another environmental organization Can be something that helps the Forum – a project that we can get done with more resources. Can be something you think up on your own – that you’re passionate or curious about – assuming that it’s not duplicating work that is already underway somewhere else. Can be scientific research You can work alone or in teams
  3. Guidelines for Projects

    It advances some kind of environmental initiative, OR environmental issue with a social justice aspect It has a goal and defined outcome (for example, it’s not just ongoing volunteer work) It has specific and clearly defined milestones and deliverables Come tell us what you would like to do and we’ll help you clarify and refine your proposal

  6. Project Process

    I’ll be handing out a simple Project Proposal template in the next week or so and ask that you to complete and hand it in by mid-Thanksgiving. We’ll review it and give you feedback (this will give you a 6 week window) December 4 is Project Declaration Day – you get a few minutes to describe your project to the class. On January 22 you each present your Project Plan (we have a template for your project plan) On March 12 you present your Projects
