CIVIL AIR PATROL TEXAS WING HEADQUARTERS (KOCH) A L Mangham Jr. Regional Airport (KOCH) SAFETY BRIEFING HOUSTON SECTIONAL (19 SEP13) Come to the Safety Officer Desk for specifics concerning your mission. 5 5 SAFETY FIRST AND FOREMOST Current and expired charts with greater detail are available at the Safety Desk. • Do not allow aircrew (or anyone else) to enter, depart or walk around aircraft with propeller turning. Shut down before allowing anyone to approach the aircraft. • No chains as direct-to tie downs. Chalks as well as tie-down ropes. • Taxi at walking speeds and in clockwise direction at ramp. Do not taxi across parking slots. • CAP radio check prior to taxi. Set all radio frequencies prior to taxi. Ensure that aircrew is familiar with all radios prior to taxi. • Pre-take-off checks and run-ups: prior to hold short lines. • “Go around!” requires immediate action to go around; save discussing it at altitude.
