  3. Equity and Equality Operationally Defined Equity refers to the principle of what is just and processof engendering fairness or access to that which is fair, but not necessarily equal. Equality: The outcome of equity. Be careful not to think of this process (equity) and outcome (equality) only in terms of students, but also faculty and staff.
