Definition : • The name for diseases in which the body cells become abnormal and divide without control. • Cancer cells may spread through the bloodstream and lymphatic system to other parts of the body. • It isn’t confined for man and the higher mammals but affects all most multicellular organisms.

  4. Causes : Radiation : (UV & X-ray). Cosmetics(skin cancer). Smoking(lung cancer). Hepatitis B & C (liver cancer). H.Pylori(stomach cancer).

  5. Cell cycle :

  6. Symptoms : • Tiredness. • Coughing. • Formation of a cyst. • Unexplained weight loss. • Fever. • Fatigue. • Pain. • Skin changes ( darker skin , yellowish , reddned ).

  7. There is more 100 types of cancer: • Most common in male : Lung. Prostate. Colon. Urinary bladder. Leukemia , lymphoma . • Most common in females: Breast. Colon. Cervix. Lung. Leukemia , lymphoma .

  8. Is cancer infectious ? • No , cancer is not infectious. • A healthy person cannot "catch" cancer from someone who has it. • There is no evidence that close contact or things like sex, kissing, touching, sharing meals, or breathing the same air can spread cancer from one person to another.

  9. Mum may pass cancer to her baby through placenta.

  10. Diagnosis: By analysis: - Identifingcancer markers intumer tissue. - CBC blood test : compareresults with identified cancer cells. - Lymphocytes size test :if swollen cells more than normal ones >> cancer.

  11. Treatment : Medical surgery : if tumer size is small. Radiation : may affect the surrounding normal tissue. Chemotherapy : Chemicals can’t differentiate between infected and normal cells.

  12. How to protect ourselves from cancer ? • The best way to avoid cancer is not to smoke. • Eating well (vegetables & fruit) to improve our health and immune system beside doing sport. • Drinking green tea continuously. • As we know that << Prevention is better than cure >>.
