A deodorant is something that is applied to the body to stop or disguise body odour that results from bacteria breaking down perspiration or vaginal secretions, for example in the armpits, groyne, or feet. Antiperspirants are a subclass of deodorants that stop sweating directly, usually by obstructing sweat glands.<br><br>Shop long lasting deodorants for men & women for every occasion from Kelyn. 3. DEODORANTS & ANTIPERSPIRANT  A deodorant is a product used on the body to stop body odor caused by the bacterial breakdown of perspiration in armpits, feet, and other parts of the body; it does not dry the skin out.  Antiperspirants are a subclass of deodorants that influence odors and stop sweating by altering sweat glands. Deodorants / Antiperspirants are commonly packaged in: • Roll- on Stick. • Aerosols. • Gel. • Creams and lotions.

  4.  Antiperspirants: They are made to minimize axillary sweating. (astringent and precipitator of proteins). They were deemed to be drugs (because their mode of action affect a body function) have a coagulating impact on skin proteins, preventing perspiration ducts from opening on the skin's surface.  Deodorants: They are made to reduce axillary odor because this is recognized as a non-therapeutic goal and a bodily function is not thought to have been affected. They are regarded as cosmetics since they frequently contain scent to cover up body odor. Antiseptics or bactericides that eliminate bacteria and stop their activity.

  5.  Composition of Deodorants Fragrance or perfume to hide irritating body odor (e.g. Musk aroma from eythylene dodecanedioate) (e.g. Musk scent from eythylene dodecanedioate). Microorganisms that cause odors are eliminated using a germicide. For instance, long-chain quaternary ammonium salts, salts of zinc, phenols like triclosan, or chemicals such as benzethonium.  Composition of Antiperspirants They are deodorants that also prevent perspiration from forming. Aluminum zirconium tetrachlorohydrex glycine complex or aluminium c hlorohydrates (astringents) are examples of active substances.(12 - 20%) Mechanism of action: The active ingredient will diffuse into the sweat and apocrine glands, causing insoluble hydroxide gel to be generated in sweat pores and obstructing the sweat gland ducts' ability to physically release secretory chemicals.

  7. THE BEST WAY TO APPLY DEODORANT Deodorant works by killing stink-causing bacteria on your skin and preventing body odor. Here’s how to get the most out of your odor protection and put your smelly armpit worries to rest:  Wash your skin: Shower or bathe with a gentle cleanser to effectively get rid of sweat, concentrating on the underarms and any other places you tend to sweat.  Dry your skin completely: Antiperspirants and deodorants should be applied to completely dry skin because wetness can make the formula less effective.  Apply deodorant anywhere you tend to sweat: While some deodorant brands are meant only for armpits, most can be applied anywhere you sweat (like behind the knees or inner thighs). If you want to keep other areas of your body fresh and dry, check the label first to make sure your deodorant is safe to use anywhere.

  8.  Apply deodorant to underarms: Apply deodorant to your underarms using 2-3 upward and downward sweeps. This technique helps ensure you’re covering all of your sweat glands. If you have hair in your armpits, you may need to apply more pressure when putting on deodorant.  Let your deodorant dry: Give your deodorant several minutes to dry before dressing. This will give it time to set and also help you avoid deodorant from getting on your clothes.  Bring your deodorant with you: Deodorant can be reapplied throughout the day if you need to freshen up. For best results, use a cleansing cloth and then dry your underarms before reapplying.
