  1. Radiation pollution The aim is to show people all the danger of radiation pollution.

  2. The popular problem. Now problem of pollution by nuclear waste becomes very popular. But not only people are to be blamed for. Most of the nuclear reactors are worn out.

  3. We live in Gatchina near Petersburg Institute of Nuclear Physics where a reactor is working. Of course it is less than a Power Station but in spite of it the accident at this station may have very serious consequences.

  4. We suppose that not all people in our town are sure that exploitation of the reactor is safe. So students from Gatchina decided to make measuring of radiation level in several regions of our town. It occurred that radiation level is not above required standards.

  5. The greatest tragedy. Nowadays people pay attention to this problem as never before because all of them remember the greatest tragedy of XX century.

  6. At 1:23 am on 26th April, 1986 a human error and poor safety standards caused a terrible explosion. It was a nuclear accident at Chernobyl Power Station.

  7. How could this terrible accident happen? Scientists all over the world claim nuclear energy to be the best solution to the energy crisis. What can be done now? Many questions need to be answered by politicians, physicists, energy experts and people who were fortunate enough not to be directly affected by the disaster. One thing is certain: those who suffered the horror of Chernobyl know what it is like when the full power of the atom is accidentally released.

  8. The accident in Chernobyl has influenced the ecological situation in Leningrad region. This accident caused high level of land pollution. Radioactive elements from soil get into plants and then into human organism.

  9. Condition of radiation safety of Gatchina is in general rated as acceptable. Besides, radiation dangerous objects meet the requirements of laws and standards in use of nuclear energy.

  10. All in all, if people use nuclear energy following safely rules it not only saves natural resources but brings benefit and no harm.
