    6. 6 PC’s available for you MS Windows XP Logging on and off: Ctrl-Alt-Del MS Office 2003 XP & Office 2003 are tuned towards what is important for the school

    7. 7 PC’s available for you AZERTY keyboard layout Can be changed to QUERTY via LEFT SHIFT+ALT Additional layouts through “Language Bar” icon Do NOT store personal data on the PC Use Network share (your M:-drive) Regular cleaning PC

    8. 8 PC’s: Where? Your own pc You are allowed to work on any pc Auditoria pc’s for teaching only are cleaned automatically Campus Gent PC room 1st floor badge controlled access to this zone 24x7 Library For non-library work only after agreement with library personnel

    10. 10 PC’s: Where (3) Portables Can be rented via request in Altiris Via Helpdesk at Campus Gent Via ICT at MBA Office (Campus Leuven) Must return after 1 day Contract to be signed No rental fee Do not leave any files on it

(4) Changes are NOT allowed Do not move/change desktop PC’s, printers, any part of ICT infrastructure Do not disconnect any cables Software changes/installations are not allowed If needed make a request via Altiris Defect or malfunctioning devices Please report ASAP preferably via Altiris

    12. 12 PC’s: Where? (5) We have a restaurant (Gent & Leuven) Do not eat or drink when using a computer Strictly forbidden in PC room Flat-screens Do not touch the screen!

    16. 16 Altiris Helpdesk Tool Login at http://www.vlerick.be/helpdesk -> ‘Submit your problem’ Online tool to report and follow up your problem You receive a unique ticket number When your call is modified, you receive an email (do not reply to this, use the online tool) Use this for all operational questions too

    22. 22 Your account: email Firstname.Lastname@vlerick.be Email access: Outlook Web Access (OWA) http://webmail.vlerick.be/ Logon: same credentials as on PC’s Available on and off campus No other clients are supported (no POP, IMAP, …) Quota: 60 MB: you receive a warning 90 MB: unable to send 120 MB: unable to send nor receive limited message size: use vlerick.be/bigfiles Clean your mailbox: see FAQ

    23. 23 Email: SPAM SPAM (unwanted email) is automatically filtered externally (FrontBridge) by Outlook: junk Please do not spend time on SPAM See FAQ files

    24. 24 Email: for work only mail is monitored (virus, spam, content) on request ICT might give your colleagues access to your mailbox use an external mail service for your personal, non-work-related email

    26. 26 Your M:-drive A personal disk on the network Mapped automatically at logon Daily backup Quotum: 2 GB When you have more than 2GB: Your drive becomes read-only Delete files or contact ICT Burn a CD-ROM A private, confidential space: no other users are allowed on this disk Monitored by ICT

Only after explicit agreement with ICT Team ICT installs Altiris and ePolicy client on this PC (allows monitoring/inventory/take over) You must have an up-to-date and working virus scanner Your PC must not have impact on the ICT infrastructure of the school

    28. 28 non-Vlerick PC (2) Only via DHCP No support, no software You must obtain a network cable from ICT Your cable has a unique number Disconnecting a Vlerick PC’s to connect your PC is not allowed Do not plug in your own network cable, it could interfere with the network infrastructure

    30. 30 Your other hardware Not allowed! Printers, scanners, USB devices, network components, any other thing, … Exception: USB stick Most should install automatically, otherwise contact ICT If needed: request via Altiris

    32. 32 Confidentiality Always log off You are responsible for your data And for the data you are given by companies, etc. Use the network drives Use your password correctly Do not share Change regularly Do not leave floppies, cdroms, memory sticks in the drive of a PC, in the PC room, ... Collect your printouts Password protect your files if needed

    33. 33 Security Last year several portables were stolen: financial loss loss of data, email Lock your pc with a physical lock, even for 5 minutes Lock your door Ask questions to non-Vlerick persons Report issues to security Enter and leave the building only via the main entrance

    34. 34 Privacy The ICT infrastructure of the Vlerick school is for school work only: Files and emails will be checked on viri and content, automatically Abuse (spam, ...) will immediately be reported to the Dean If you need a personal, more private email address: See free email providers etc.
