  3. About Jessica Dismorr Jessica Dismorr was born in 1885 in London, England. She studied art at the Slade School of Fine Art, where she was a contemporary of Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant. After graduating from the Slade, Dismorr became a member of the Bloomsbury Group. Dismorr's early work was influenced by the Post-Impressionist movement. However, in the early 1910s, she began to experiment with abstract art. Her abstract paintings were characterized by their bold colors, geometric shapes, and flattened perspectives. Dismorr's work was highly influential in the development of abstract art. She was one of the first British artists to produce abstract paintings, and her work helped to pave the way for the development of abstract art in the United Kingdom. Dismorr continued to produce abstract paintings throughout her career. She also worked as a printmaker and a designer. She died in 1969 at the age of 84.
