  7. Television Station • Full power UHF Television station on the air • Met critical FCC deadline in December 2006

  8. Program Development • 2 Emmy Awards (Science and Me and Broward School Beat) • Completion of two television series (Reality Avenue and It’s the Write Time)

  9. Distance Learning Videoconferencing • 83 schools served in 2004-05 • 54% increase over baseline • 128 schools served in 2005-06 • Expanded weekly BECON videoconferencing programs to Middle and High Schools

  10. Distance Learning Broward Virtual School (BVS) • 4,885 successful half-credit completions in 2005-2006 • Demonstrated 87% course completion rate in 2005-2006 • Rated highest performing Florida Virtual School franchise in the state • Expanded BVS program to serve grades 6 - 8

They were able to access some of the GeoGebra worksheets after he presented them in class. They really enjoyed this. Future Steps • Develop plan for preparing schools to receive digital broadcast in compliance with FCC guidelines • Increase FTE generating enrollment in Broward Virtual School (BVS) • Expand participation in Distance Learning activities at all school sites • Establish fund raising initiatives to develop foundational ongoing revenue generation
