Component 4: common manual • Structure (working titles) • Chapter: Introduction on watertourism in Europe • Chapter: regional identity + profiling of the partner’s water tourism regions • Chapter: Economic efficiency of landing stages along rivers – the City of Loitz as model project - Region Mecklenburg Western Pomerania / Germany • Chapter: Possibilities for Environmentally Friendly Tourism in the Lahti Region, Especially as Comes to Prolonging the Tourism Season in the Lahti Region - Case Lehmonkärki/ Finland • Chapter: Water Tourism on the River Dráva/ Hungary • Chapter: Tourism Development in the region of Setúbal/ Portugal • Chapter: Water Tourism in the Midland Region/ Ireland

Component 4: common manual • Results so far (Sept. 2005) • English abstracts of case studies: Vorpommern, Lahti, AFLPOS, Southtransdanubian, Midland Region? • gathering data concerning water tourism of the partner regions by animare (questionnaire, broschures, internet etc) • evaluation, comparisson and combination of material • preparation and implementation of a common workshop in Hungary

Component 4: common manual • Sign posting system (Jan – Jun 2006) • Lahti, Midland Region, Southtransdanubian, Setubal: 20.000 EURO/ per partner • Starting in January 2006: concept for sign posting system at inland water ways • Implementation until June/ July: Payment within milestone 5 (Jul-Dec 2006)

  11. Component 5 • Component 5 • Developing tools and methods to market the regions within their regional tourism market as well as on the European market • one common concept • virtual market place • international conference in Lahti/ Finland

Component 5 • Statements of project partners concerning needed marketing tools within your regions: • Ireland: existing regional web pages should be proceeded • a common pages to present the project is needed • Hungary: new pages have to be developed, because the existing are to small and not enough • Portugal: some web pages are already existing • web pages to exchange information between businesses are needed • Finland: marketing is done by the tourist organisation, no new web page necessary • Vorpommern: existing webpages need to be updated and relaunched

Component 5 • Concept and virtual marketplace - common web portal (entry page) which introduces the parter region: • it should be more emotional, smooth - with attractive photos to create an atmosphere • front site should have 70% images (or more) and 30 % words (or less) • the content of the following web pages has to be provided by the regions • the portal should be found by different search machines • the common web page should be able to use existing booking systems • to provide the web page after the end of the project should be not very expensive

Next Meeting • Place: Lahti/ Finland • Time: 13 – 16 June 2006 • 13th of June: Arrival • 14th of June: conference • 15th of June: study trip • 16th of June: project meeting • 17th of June: departure • Participants: all project regions, steering group, min. 6 participants per region, one expert per region (presentation at the conference) • travel arrangements: partners (information on local transport by Lahti) • technical organisation: Lahti • structure and concept: Lahti and international project management • conference language: english
