World literacy day :DEC 2 • Ask current students to invite friends, family & neighbors to the ALC • Free training for 1-2 days covering only basics like internet browsing (Teaser) • This is to catch the prospects attention as internet is more exciting. i.e. application/usage should be shown before theory.

November 14 - Children's Day • Organize fun events with children from 7th – 10th std revolving around IT • Contests to be arranged on Children day or World literacy day at the ALC • The winners will be awarded ‘add-on sessions’* after enrolling for MS-CIT course • * No free courses/ discounts to be given as anything free tends to loose value and people perceive it to be a lower quality.

  6. Christmas -25 December & New year • Promotional material revolving around Christmas & new year • This is basically a “happy period”, so we can catch on people's sentiments • Esp .New year. Advt • “MAKE A RESOLUTION TO BE IT-LITERATE THIS NEW YEAR”

  7. January festivals • 14 Jan - Makar Sankranti, Pongal • Distribute ‘tilgul’ to all enrolled students in a pouch with logo or pamphlet. • 26 Jan - Republic Day – distribute badges • With a Indian flag saying “ Proud to be an IT-literate Indian”

  8. Promotional tools • Prepare a monthly newsletter and distribute it to all the learning centers • Banner Advertising – at all ALC’s • Advertorials in newspapers • Use Merchandising like CD’s,Caps, pens,T shirts etc

  9. Surveys • Survey of your locality to get the database of non IT literate people so that they can be targeted. • Eg: On Dec 2 IT Literacy day, students can go and provide information about IT and distribute pamphlets of the nearby ALC.

  10. Internet & Social networking sites • Majority of the students are on social networking sites like orkut, facebook etc • We can exploit the same to promote MS-CIT using online forums apart from our MKCL website • Also, pointers/ads on newspapers websites will work good. • eg: E-sakal
