  1. GEMSTONES HEROES OF 2018 Investing in a gemstone is a good and viable option for jewellery lovers and investors. While these precious and semi-precious stones are loved and cherished throughout, however, there are some gem pieces that have become the trend for this year. The value and demand of these gemstones have seen a sudden rise this year and they have become the gemstones of the year. In the jewellery world, the trends emerge slowly but once they do, they are there to stay for a longer time, so plan your investment and budget accordingly this year. These four gemstones have become a big name in your shopping list 2018: Sapphire: There’s no doubt that the blue sapphire has been favourites since time immemorial. The royal blue colour has been a perfect symbolism of richness and classic brought together and has been a proud member of people’s wardrobe. What’s amazing to see it that different hues of sapphire have come into the light and are greatly loved by jewellery lovers. Sapphires in teal, green, light yellow and grey are increasingly used by wholesale designer jewellery distributors due to an increase in their popularity. These gemstones are increasingly sourced from Africa, Australia, and Montana and are extremely expensive given their rarity. This bright mint inspired coloured and foggy shades are sure a treat to the on looker’s eyes. Bicolour Tourmaline:According to the gem trade association, the demand for bicolour and tricolour tourmaline is going to rise higher throughout 2018. The beauty of this gemstone lies in its hues, combinations of purple-pink, blue-green, pink blue etc. in one stone is definitely worth a buy. This beautiful combination of two or three colours arouses interest and curiosity in the minds of the consumers.

  2. Amethysts: Ultraviolet has been declared as the colour of the year therefore, purple shade has become the apple of people’s eyes. Amethyst was once valued greatly by royalties, however, increase in supply as compared to the demand resulted in the fall of their value. Precious gemstone suppliers are enjoying increased demand for not-so-common and rare reddish-purple amethyst this year. Amethyst has been one of the most versatile gemstones and makes up for a great piece of jewellery. Grape Garnet: This stone represents a variety of vivid hues which strikingly eye catchy. While the deep violet-red garnet is quite common, the green colour in rare and hard to find. What’s unique in garnet is that is displays asterism, i.e. is starts forming star-shaped patterns of reflections. The sheer brilliance and lustre exhibited by garnet are hard to match. The fashion industry is undergoing great transition, unconventional trends are dominating the fashion world. A great emphasis is put on imperfection where the asymmetry and the cracks in a gemstone are greatly adorned by people. Vintage is ruling the markets once again. 2018 runaways have seen some impeccable work by many people and have created many trends which are here to stay for a long, long time.
