  1. From any C-FB school website, click on Parent Self Serve.

  2. Scroll down to the bottom - click on New User. • Type the information asked for on one child – information must match what is in TEAMS • Use Capital & Lowercase letters when typing names Rebecca • Create a username and password that you will remember.

  3. Birthdate: example 01/05/1998 Exactly as it is in TEAMS Student’s 6 digit School ID # Home Zip Code: example 75006 Exactly as each name appears in TEAMS – use Capital and lower case letters. Create the User Name and Password you will use to log in to TEAMS. Type the new password again. Create a security question – example: first grade teacher Type the answer – ex: Harmon Required Information Click Submit when all blanks are filled.

  4. If the information matches what you filled out on the registration card: • Confirmation Message appears with a Print and an OK button • Message lists your User ID and Security question, and web address for CFBISD. • Print for safe keeping – then click OK to go to the login screen • If the information doesn’t match – an error message appears: call 972-968-4537 for help.

  5. Type the username & password you created and click the Sign On button. • You should be able to see all your students that attend a C-FB school. • If you cannot login or see all your kids, call 972-968-4357.

  6. Here is where all your students will show up. • Click on the student you want to view. • Then click on the Report Card Tab and wait for the grades to load. • This tab shows the current averages.

  7. To seewhy the student is earning that grade: • Click on the grade and it will show you the assignments that make up that grade. The grades in Red are the current averages. This view shows we are currently in the 2nd 9 Weeks. NG means the teacher has not input grades.

  8. Here you can see the reason for the average. • Click on Report Card Tab at the top to return and see all class averages. • Click My Students Tab to select another child • Always Sign Out when finished.

  9. Click on Progress Report Tab at the top to see the Progress Report averages. • The Progress Report Tab shows the snapshot in time of the assignments that calculated the Progress Report. • Click on a grade to see assignments just like you did in the Report Card.

  10. Click Attendance Tab to view your student’s absences or tardies for each class period. • Students must have 90% attendance rate to receive credit. Maximum 9 absences per Semester – 18/Year

  11. Top: View Attendance by Period and Date. • Side: View Membership/Attendance Totals • Total Days Membership – Days in School

  12. Tardy Policy **Tardy Count starts over on the first day of each 9-Week Grade Period**

  13. Other Tabs: • Email Teacher – Communicate directly with your child’s teacher from PSS. • Drop-down menu lists ONLY your child’s teachers *Note* Not all teachers in system yet. • Highlight a name to send an email • Your email address as it appears in TEAMS will automatically appear • Your email address wrong/missing – Call Student Services at child’s school to correct it.

  14. Other Tabs: • Notifications – Select to receive automated messages concerning your child. • Parent options – you select what type of messages and for what reasons you receive them. • Receive email alerts to home or mobile email account for absences, tardies, low or missing grades, etc.

  15. Other Tabs: • Discipline – see all the times your student has been to the office • Health Log – see all the times your student has been to the nurse

  16. Now that you’re registered you can go to: www.cfbisd.edu Click on Parents Click on Parent Self Serve Scroll down and click on Existing Users.

  17. Type the username & password you created and click the Sign On button. • Forgot your password – click on ForgotPassword. You will be prompted for the answer to your security question. • If you cannot login or see all of your kids, call 972-968-4357.

  19. What is a Summative Grade? • An assessment such as a test or major project • There should be at least one summative grade assigned each three weeks. • You should see at least 3 summative during the 9 weeks.

  20. What is a Formative Grade? • Daily Class Work & Homework • warm-ups • class work • daily quizzes • class participation

  21. Grading Policies • During each nine-week grading periodat least 9 grades shall be assigned. • Of the 9 grades: • At least 3 separate grades shall be summative in nature. • Any student who receives a grade of 75 or below on a three-week progress report or 70 or below on a report card should attend tutorials.

  22. How to Help Your Student Achieve • Login to Parent Self Serve together at least once a week. • Keep graded work for semester exams. • Ask to see their planner weekly or more. Students should have written the following types of information: • Learning goal or topic covered that day for EACH class • Assignment/homework – page number, assignment • Test/quizzes – date and topic

  23. Students: Not Happy with Your Grade? • Attend Tutorials! If you have questions/need help with homework or project, or if you have 75 below on progress report. • Tutorials 8:15 – 8:45 • See teacher for after-hours tutorials • Check teacher’s webpage for assignments/handouts • Correct failing summative (test) grades • Promptly make up missing work due to absence • Keep track of things in your planner.
