  1. Musical Figurative Language Jordan Price Period 4 8/9/13

  2. Battlefield by Jordin Sparks • “Why does love always feel like a battlefield…” This is an example of a simile. I know this because the lyric is comparing love to a battlefield using the word like.

  3. Stereo Heart by Gym Class Hero's • “I’m not an old record that you can blow off and play me…” This is an example of a metaphor. The reason it is a metaphor is because its comparing to unlike things without using like or as.

  4. C'mon by Panic! at the Disco ft. fun • “Falling for forever, wonderfully wandering alone…” This is an example of Alliteration. Reason being is it repeats the same first letter.

  5. A Year Without Rain by Selena Gomez • “A year without you is like a year without rain…” That is an example of Hyperbole. In these lyrics Selena is over exaggerating and expressing what a year would be like without the person.

  6. Boom Boom Pow by Black Eyed Peas • “Boom boomboom (gotta get get) x4..” This lyric is an example of a onomatopoeia. The black eyed peas are singing a sound. (Ex. Boom, Pow, Bang, Crack)

  7. Texas was you by Jason Aldean • “Texas, was green eyes crying goodbye…” This last one is an example of Sensory imagery. Jason Aldean is describing and painting a mental picture in your head of a girl with green eyes crying as you listen to the lyrics.
