Grape Industry Stakeholder Unanimous Approval • Trellis Program Developed 7April13 • 13 meetings at Kabul DAIL since 19DEC12. • Numerous un-official meetings, correspondence. • Politicos must tire before technocrats have voice. • Unprecedented stakeholder collaboration • Zero-sum perspective slows growth. • Agricultural development needs are huge, but stakeholders often only see limited immediate contract opportunity. • Capacity Built = Afghan farmer centric fair, transparent and accountable trellis materials distribution system has been built and received unanimous approval on 7APRIL13. • Ongoing Action • TF Centurion Project Managers developing 4 CERP projects to distribute 592 jeribs of grape trellis materials through the DAIL program mechanism we built for Qara Bagh and Mirbacha Kot Districts of Kabul Province. • Relationships built among industry stakeholders are leading to broader Agribusiness Stakeholder Group. • DAIL promises to use USAID AGRED program to follow-up trellis training with further grape production training events. • CERP project execution will be monitored for success and possible future modifications. 7-April-13
