11. My NASA DATA - developed by NASA LARC.
Serve up “microsets” of NASA data from satellite missions - appropriate for use by K-12. Students can conduct their own research using data from the Live Access Server (mostly atmospheric data, but also includes some ocean data - e.g. sea surface temperature).
Hurricanes as heat Engines lesson plan developed by the MND team
In this lesson, students examine a historical Category 5 hurricane, Hurricane Rita, that crossed the Gulf of Mexico during September 18-24, 2005. They use the MND Live Access Server to obtain sea surface temperature data maps of the Gulf of Mexico. Then, they construct a time series of SST data (line plot) for a location within the path of the hurricane where a drop in SST is observed. My NASA DATA - developed by NASA LARC.
