  2. Erickson Aircrane / Beck Drilling Aerial Drill Rig Proposal Page 2
  3. Safety Topic Page 3 Weekly tailgate meetings will be carried out and documented The Project Manager will be a Level III First Aid Attendant that will coordinate the Safety Program for the aerial operation Medi-vac training will be conducted with all crews for familiarization with support helicopter procedures in coordination with Emergency Response Plan (ERP) Integrated Project Plans (IPP) – pulls together the various activities in a coordinated fashion where changes must be approved by all parties. Pre site inspections and risk assessments are carried out on all Service / Staging areas to minimize exposure Investigations will be conducted on incidents where risk can be mitigated by improving procedure or awareness
  4. Objectives Page 4 To provide an aerial solution for the Field Geotechnical Investigation Program Support for HDD Site Investigations To provide a self contained turn key operation: Reduces field time Maximizing daylight and capital employed Extend operating season in summer To provide an aerial solution that could enhance geotechnical field investigation work Borrow site or slope stability investigation To present an option that provides for a minimal footprint disturbance Ground access to investigation sites eliminated Minimize land use permitting requirements Minimal footprints result in reduced environmental disturbance
  5. KeyAssumptions / Summer Program Page 5 One Aircrane will support at least 2 drill rigs for deep hole applications 5 Short Haul Precision & 6 General Delivery lifts are estimated per hole One support helicopter Where flight distance exceeds prudent economics, the Beck aerial rig will be returned to highway / access road to be trucked to staging area for the next investigation site
  6. Major Phase Assumptions - Aircrane Page 6 Aircrane costs include: Crews – 3 pilots, 3 Mechanics, Project Manager, Fuel Truck Driver Fuel and fuel logistics – fuel truck & pup; 40 ft tanker 3 Pickups / crew cabs Boom truck, lift truck, fuel trailers, service pods, ambulance Estimated cost allowance for accommodation and per diem - per manday Travel – flights in/out crew changes on two week rotation Mobilization and demobilization of Aircrane is included Service Landing footprint approx imately60m x 60m Working within disturbed sites where available Accessories: Gravel bucket, log grapple, 5000 gal water storage tank, anti rotation device, mobile fuel containment Equipped to support local fire initial attack with bambi or griffiths bucket
  7. Sample of Attachments Provided Page 7
  8. Fuel Containment Procedures Page 8 Sample fuel berm lined with Typar building wrap and heavy weight poly closed off at both ends Fully contained Drip trays below all hose fittings Pumping system available to deal with any spill immediately
  9. Major Phase Assumptions – Beck Aerial Drill Rig Page 9 Beck Drilling costs include: 2 aerial drill rig platforms Rig methodology – mud rotary drill method complete with coring option Air rotary drilling – ODEX gravel formation capability Standard geotechnical sampling equipment Drill rig capacity of up to 200m Specially designed aerial core shack inspection portable shelter Drill pipe, mud pumps, mud recycling heli portable pits & air compressors Drill rig footprint approximately 600m2 per hole Staging area footprint approximately 900m2 Working within disturbed sites where available Crews - 2 drillers; 4 helpers, 1 water truck driver, 1 mechanic, 1 supervisor Water truck, 3 support vehicles, 2 tractor trailers Estimated cost allowance for accommodation and per diem - per manday Rigging and associated tooling

  13. Major Phase Assumptions – Support Helicopter Page 15 One Bell 212 Twin Engine support helicopter 2 pilots; 1 mechanic 1 Pick up Fuel logistics provided by Aircrane 12 passengers capability
  14. Major Phase Assumptions – Site Preparation & Clean-up Page 16 Site preparation and clean-up crew on site 2 – 2 man falling crews equipped with chainsaws, fuel and oil 2 Pickups / crew cabs Clean-up activities Spider hoe / Menzi Muck (see web link) 1 spider-hoe machine for clearing support and excavation ability Will be able to fly in one pick with Aircrane
  15. Next Steps Willing to refine budget estimates if provided details regarding scope of work, program schedule, details regarding access to and availability of appropriate staging areas What needs to be done to be approved as vendors for the project? (Erickson Air-Crane) What scope of work might be reasonable to consider for the project? Willingness to work with estimators to provide further detail on cost assumptions Page 17
