  1. RTI First Period • We will NOT be rotating for RTI 1st period until Monday Jan. 14 • Reminder – Cell phones are not to be visible unless they are being used for instructional purposes. THIS IS THE OMS CELL PHONE POLICY. • Tell a partner: • The 3 best things about winter break • One thing you’re looking forward to • One question you have (any topic!)

RTI First Period – Community • At the end of the week you’ll have the following submitted: • A student handbook • A mission statement • School History and name • Activities and clubs • Food Services • 3 requirements to be a student at the school • Dress code • Classes offered • Grade levels offered • Grading scale • A design of your school building • A design of school logo • School mascot • While we aren’t rotating, we will be working on a school project.   9. Class Reset – Reminders! • Bathroom: 4 passes per semesters. Sign out, take the pass. • Pencils: Bring one, sharpen it (point to where the sharpener is located). Don’t have one? Ask 3 before me. Be prepared for class at the start of class – not during bellwork. • Folders: Get these before bellwork if the board says to do so! Keep up with it – it lives in the folder parking! • Expectations: Pay attention to level 0 time, respectful, on task behaviors. Non- negotiables! CLEAN UP EVERY DAY. • Discipline Policy: steps, removal chair, removal to another room/taken out by admin. MAKE GOOD CHOICES  • RTI First Period: follow old schedule for this week, SEL teacher will give you new schedules when you need them!

  19. Bellwork - level 0 – Silent! Pick up folders! Explain the social structure of the Catholic Church (social pyramid). Who is in charge? How do you know? Who is the least important? How do you know? Do you agree or disagree with this social structure? Why or why not?

  22. Indulgences An indulgence is given by the Catholic Church after a sinner has confessed and paid the church money. (An indulgence certificate – right) Confess, pay money, still get into heaven. WHAT A DEAL!!

  25. Article: The Catholic Church Before the Reform: Power, Influence, and Corruption! Make a prediction – if people were upset about the Catholic Church, how might they let others know how they were feeling? List 2 problems with the leadership of the Catholic Church before the Reformation. Write a letter of to a friend about indulgences. Explain how you feel about paying indulgences and how you plan on sharing your feelings with others.

(Select 3!) They both allowed literacy to grow because people were reading what they created. They both allowed the love of indulgences to be published as they supported the Catholic Church. They both agreed with the Catholic Church and it’s ideas. They both allowed books to spread because books were in a common language and being printed. They both diffused knowledge because books and a common language were used to explain how the Catholic Church was unfair.

On Friday, we worked on your Martin Luther Essay (hopefully finishing in class) • Students, today you will either: • Finish your essay if you didn’t or couldn’t on Friday. • Peer edit your essay with the supplied rubric, giving your partner a tentative grade and allowing them to fix grammatical and conventions of English issues that may have arisen. • When you think you are finished, submit your FINAL copy with corrections to your teacher for last inspection.
