  3. 1. Films can serve as a barometer of social awareness. • 2. Carefully selected films can educate the general public. 3. There are few films that feature mental illness and children.

  4. 4. There are few films that feature mental illness and diverse populations including minority groups. 5. Gender stereotypes persist in films.

  5. What can the members of the college community do to challenge misconceptions and stereotypes associated with mental illness?

  6. 1. Films can be used in classrooms to analyze the accuracy and reality of mental health conditions portrayed. 2. Films can be powerful teaching tools. 3. Students and faculty can use the Counseling Center for education, treatment and prevention.
