  1. Sometimes, you will know when to change the bulb because one day you will switch on the projector and it will not work. There are a number of environmental factors that can shorten the life of a projector lamp because the bulbs are delicate objects. Factors such as letting the bulb cool before moving the projector, not cleaning the filter or even storing the projector lamp in a cold or warm place can all shorten its expected lamp life.

  2. When replacing a new lamp into the existing lamp module housing, a suitably qualified electrician or on-site professional should only undertake it. It is important to ensure the terminals are not over tightened as the ceramic can be cracked and reduce the electronic insulation of the bulb. Similarly, if the bulb is under tightened, it can cause arcing on the terminal, which puts undue load on the ballast that can lead to failure.

  3. Lamp modules are more commonplace and can be likened to car headlights, where you buy the "unit" which just slots in. To replace a lamp module, you simply undue the necessary screws on your projector, lift out the old lamp module, insert the new lamp module and tighten the screws.
