  2. WHAT IS TOOTHACHE? Toothache refers to pain or discomfort in and around a tooth or multiple teeth. It is a common dental issue that can range from mild to severe and may be caused by various factors.

  3. CAUSES OF TOOTHACHE Tooth Decay: Cavities or dental caries can lead to pain as the decay reaches the sensitive inner layers of the tooth. Gum Infection: Infections in the gums, such as gingivitis or periodontitis, can cause toothache. Tooth Abscess: A collection of pus within the tooth or in the surrounding tissues can result in intense pain. Tooth Fracture: Cracks or fractures in the tooth can expose nerves, causing pain. Sensitive Teeth: Tooth sensitivity to hot or cold stimuli can result in discomfort.

  4. SYMPTOMS OF TOOTHACHE Sharp or Throbbing Pain: Toothaches often manifest as sharp or throbbing pain in or around a tooth. Pain While Chewing: Discomfort may increase while chewing or biting down on food. Swelling: Inflammation or swelling around the affected tooth or in the gums may occur. Headache or Earache: Toothaches can sometimes cause headaches or earaches. Fever: In the case of an infection, a fever may accompany toothache.

  5. TREATMENT OF TOOTHACHE Pain Medications: Over-the-counter pain relievers such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen can help alleviate pain. Topical Analgesics: Applying topical numbing gels or ointments to the affected area can provide temporary relief. Cold Compress: Applying a cold compress to the cheek can help reduce inflammation and numb the area. Saltwater Rinse: Gargling with warm saltwater may help soothe irritated gums. Dental Treatment: Seeking professional dental care is crucial for addressing the underlying cause of the toothache. This may involve dental fillings, root canal therapy, or tooth extraction, depending on the severity of the issue.
