  1. Preparing For A Scholarship Scholarships can help students pay for college and other education related costs. Having been awarded a scholarship is also great for a student to include on a resume, academic or otherwise. Here are some tips for scholarship preparation: Read the fine print in scholarship guidelines. Establish a strategy. Organize important information like grades, activities, accomplishments, etc. either digitally or in a physical folder. Start as early as possible and pay attention to the scholarship deadline. Understand what the scholarship committee is looking for e.g. merit or extracurricular activities.
