  1. In 1972, Lions made a commitment to preserve the environment.

  2. In 2004, the new Lions Environmental Photo Contest showcased the beauty of nature.

  3. Every Lion can enter a photo of: • animal life • plant life • an urban/natural landscape • weather phenomenon • A special annual theme

  4. Club contests can be organized during September, October, November, or December club meetings.

  5. The winning club-level photo is submitted to the district-level competition.

  6. January 15 is the deadline for districts to submit one winning photo as an 8” x 10” (20.3 x 25.4 cm) print to the multiple district contest.

  7. March 1 is the deadline for multiple districts to submit one winning photo as an 8” x 10” (20.3 x 25.4 cm) print to Lions International Headquarters.

  8. International convention attendees judge the photos. Winners receive engraved awards. The winning photos appear on the Lions Web site.

  9. Photos illustrate a multi-lingual 12-month Lions Environmental Photo Contest Calendar.
