Semi-barbaric: partially uncivilized • Exuberant: extremely good; overflowing; plentiful • Bland: pleasantly gentle or agreeable • Genial: warmly and pleasantly cheerful; cordial • Imperious: domineering in a haughty manner; dictatorial; overbearing • Brave: possessing or exhibiting courage • Savage: fierce, ferocious, or cruel; untamed • Grand: stately, majestic, or dignified • Intense: existing or occurring in a high or extreme degree • Hot-blooded: excitable, passionate

  4. Connotation vs. Denotation • Connotation refers to the emotion or the value that is suggested by the word. • Positive/ Negative/ Neutral • Denotation refers to the dictionary definition
