Executive Summary  Aspire Schools: Vincent Shalvey Academy, River Oaks Charter School, and Benjamin Holt College Preparatory Academy had a range of API scores from 885 – 936 in 2011.  Vincent Shalvey Academy was a pilot site in 2010-2011 for the new teacher development/evaluation rubric which is part of the Gates Foundation grant to improve teacher effectiveness.  100% of Ben Holt graduates were admitted to a 4-year college or university. Aspire River Oaks and Aspire Vincent Shalvey were designated as two of the top 10 Charter Schools in CA by a comprehensive USC Study.  Aspire continues to value the partnership with Lodi Unified School District!

  4. Family Satisfaction • Annual Survey Results: “What grade would you give your school?” Over 95% of families answered “A” or “B” to the survey question Family satisfaction continues to be high compared to the national average of 70%

  5. Factors for Success: Common Mission Teammate response for agreement with the statement, “My teammates are focused on high academic achievement and college for all students.” % agree or strongly agree

Aspire Vincent Shalvey Academy Successes: • Grew 9 points to 936! • Participated in Aspire pilot on teacher evaluation, which resulted in powerful teacher development sessions • One of top 10 CA charter schools cited in comprehensive USC study Focus for 2011 -2012: • Increase rigorous lesson planning • Implement Lemov engagement strategies • Apply for CA Distinguished Schools Award

Aspire Ben Holt College Preparatory Academy Successes • Increased API from 885 – 891!! • 100% of Class of 2011 accepted to a 4 year college • 75% of students College ready or conditionally college ready for math – highest average in Aspire. Focus for 2011-2012 EAP – College Readiness • Increase by an additional 10% the number of students scoring college ready or conditionally college ready on ELA and Math EAP.

Aspire River Oaks Charter School Successes: • Maintained high student achievement – API – 885! • Federal Blue Ribbon Nominee, 1 of 35 schools in the state • One of top 10 CA Charter schools cited in comprehensive study by USC. Focus for 2011-2012 • Increase number of proficient student writers • Continue alignment of afterschool and in-school intervention program with student needs
