  3. PAGE HEADER A page header includes your last name and the page number separated by about 1 or 2 spaces. Headers should appear in the top right corner of every page, including the Works Cited page

  4. TITLE The title should be 12-point font and centered, but NOT underlined, italicized, bolded, or put in quotation marks.

  5. MARGINS Use 1-inch margins on ALL 4 sides of each page. The page header is set at the ½ inch.

  6. IN-TEXT CITATIONS In-text citations MUST be used after quoting,paraphrasing, or summarizing. State the page number in parentheses. If more than ONE text is used, state the author’s last name and the page number in parentheses without a comma. The period is placed after the citation.

  7. WORKS CITED ALL assignments where a text is used MUST have a Works Cited in TANDEM with in-text citations. They work as a team - like milk and cookies, salt and pepper, peanut butter and jam, Batman and Robin, bacon and eggs.

  8. TITLE The title Works Cited should be centered, but not underlined or punctuated.

  9. ALPHABETICAL ORDER Alphabetically arrange works cited entries according to the first word in the entry, ignoring a, an, and the.

  10. BOOK BY A SINGLE AUTHOR Last Name, First Name Middle Initial (if given). Title. Location: Publisher, Year. Publication Type.

  11. IN-TEXT CITATION Meggie looks at her father’s face and asks, “ ‘Mo. Is it… is it because of last night we have to leave?’ ”(14).

  13. PLAGIARISM If you do NOT include BOTH in-text citations AND a Works Cited, your paper is considered plagiarized.
