Introduction Initiation of Project • SC36 Resolution – 2003 for consolidated vocabulary (after loss of SC1) • Ottawa Preliminary Meeting – 2005 • Discuss Canadian proposal to use Termium™ system to consolidate ISO/IEC 2382 • 6 SCs represented (SC7, SC27, SC32, SC35, SC36, SC37) • Recommendations from meeting • Make consolidated on-line vocabulary “freely available” to project editors/technical experts • Consider issues such as IPR, JTC1 approval process, SC development process David Clemis, Rapporteur JTC1 Ad Hoc on Vocabulary

Recommendations • Separation of Vocabulary Issue Into Two Parts: • JTC1 Ad Hoc related • Support conversion of ISO/IEC 2382 series (1-35) declared “stable” • Continue to urge for “free” access to result • SC32-related • Develop consistent and “harmonized” approach to vocabulary in SC32 • Continue “work as normal” • Develop approach to promote vocabulary publicly David Clemis, Rapporteur JTC1 Ad Hoc on Vocabulary
