What is ICE? • Dog Training Methodology developed to maximize performance and create a community of positive reinforcement for both people and dogs • ICE stands for Instinct, Connect and Enjoyment, the three root ingredients of the ICE program ICE Founding Members, (left to right) Cathy Sumeracki, Dawna Sims and Megan Sims

How is ICE Different? • Repeatable, documented methodology that can be repeated with similar results on all breeds • Only herding training program that has a formal certification process for upcoming trainers and instructors • Combines classroom and hands on work to maximize progress of dogs and individuals

The Success of ICE • Started October 2009 • Over 50 Level I certified individuals who have completed the classroom work needed for certification • Expanded to three states including AZ, CO and NM • 2 ICE certified trainers and 2 apprentice trainers • Over 25 events per year including classes, clinics, camps, and trials • Grows each year

ICE Silver Buckle Series • Only trial series that is open to all breeds that tracks a cumulative point total for year end awards, concluding with a year end banquet • Only trial series that categorizes awards separately for owner handler teams as well as professional handlers attracting more people to the event • 4 trial dates per year, total of 18 herding trials • 33+ year end awards • Every trial has filled to capacity with a wait list • Participants come from AZ, TX, NM, CA, CO

  6. Why Sponsor? • Pet Owner Demographic • People spent $51B on their pets and related activities in 2011. While pet ownership has declined, spending is expected to increase as more people look at their pets as family members (source: American Pet Products Association 2012) • Herding Demographic • Empty nesters, single professionals and couples without children • Dog enthusiasts who are committed to their pets and to the sport of herding; most see them as a family member rather than a pet • Western themed fashion including boots, jeans, western shirts, belts and other western wear • ICE Buckle series posts sponsor banners at events as well as on the website so people see your name repeatedly • Helps us continue to promote a positive community of dog enthusiasts • Allows us to offer more substantial awards and more numerous awards which will add to the growth of the program • 100% of our sponsorship dollars go back into the program

  7. Where Your Sponsorship Dollars Go 100 % of our sponsorship dollars go back to the program. In 2012, we fell short of our goal of $3000. We need more help to reach this same target for 2013.
