  2. Mission Provide the best fundamental and advanced spectrum management training for the Department of Defense (DoD), other federal agencies, and selected foreign nations--producing spectrum managers for operational commanders to control and dominate the electromagnetic spectrum.

  3. Spectrum Ops Apprentice The Spectrum Operations Apprentice course is 70 training days or approximately 15 weeks in length. Currently the course is organized into ten blocks of instruction. Final block entails a spectrum management tactical exercise. The course will consist of twelve blocks of instruction starting Jan 12.

Spectrum Ops Apprentice • Spectrum Operations Apprentice – E8ALR3D134 00AA/E80ZR173D3Z 00AA 70 days – Resident • Course Chief: SCPO • Instructors: SCPO • Training Manager: • Customers: 3D1X4’s, USN, USMC, DoD Civilians, DoD Contractors, International students • Pre-requisites: SECRET clearance, communications background • Course Syllabus: • Block 1 – Introduction to Electromagnetic Spectrum Management [40.5 Hrs] • Block 2 – Fundamentals of Spectrum Management Mathematics [24 Hrs] • Block 3 – Fundamentals of Communications Electronic Engineering [43 Hrs] • Block 4 – Fundamentals of Communication Systems Engineering [38 Hrs] • Block 5 – Principles of Communications Systems [21.5 Hrs] • Block 6 – Principles of Spectrum Administration [26.5 Hrs] • Block 7 – Afloat Spectrum Management Principles (AESOP) [32 Hrs] • Block 8 – Fundamentals of System Planning Engineering Evaluation Device (SPEED) [40 Hrs] • Block 9 – Fundamentals of Spectrum Management Software (SXXI/JACS) [141 Hrs] • Block 10 – Direction Finding (Spectrum Analyzer) [33.5 Hrs] • Block 11 – Joint Tactical Spectrum Operations (Joint Exercise) [120 Hrs]

  6. JTF Spectrum Management The JTF Spectrum Management Course is 12 training days or approximately 3 weeks in length. Currently the course is organized into one block of instruction. Performance Test at the end encompasses all units in the block.
