  2. Michelle Harrison • She lives in Oxford, England. • Michelle Harrison works for a children’s publisher. • She wanted to be a writer because she was a reader and she loves stories. • Michelle has also written 13 Secrets and 13 Curses.

  3. Settings • Takes place mostly in Elvesden Manor. • The story also takes place in Tickey End and Hangman’s Forest. • The story takes place during the 2 weeks when Tanya is visiting her grandmother. • It is summer in the story when Tanya goes to visit.

  4. Main Characters • Tanya-a curious girl who has the second sight meaning she can see faeries and eventually a friend takes her place in the Faerie realm. • Fabian-a boy whose father works and lives at Florence’s manor. Fabian helps Tanya escape from Morwenna Bloom. • Florence-Tanya’s grandmother and owner of the manor. Florence also has the second sight • Red-Tanya’s friend who saves humans from the faerie realm, Red was the friend that saved Tanya.

  5. Plot • Tanya’s mom tells her that Tanya will be going to her grandmother’s manor for 2 weeks and Tanya gets upset. • Tanya sneaks into the manor’s library and finds a book about faeries which she can see. Her grandmother finds Tanya in the library and gives her a bracelet of 13 Treasures. • Fabian and Tanya find a hidden door leading to the servant’s staircase where they realize that Elizabeth Elvesden was the first to wear the 13 treasure bracelet and she was the one who had the house built. • Tanya and Fabian venture out into the woods. Tanya’s dog runs away and when they are looking for him, they see a girl who thinks she sees the dog, they follow her and get lost. Luckily Fabian’s dad was out hunting and quickly found the dog and the kids. • The children figure out that the girl is really inside the faerie realm and has been stuck inside there for over 50 years. The girl’s name is Morwenna Bloom. 50 years ago, Morwenna was Florence’s best friend, until she got lost in the realm. • Tanya figures out that to save Morwenna she must take her place in the faerie realm. Red sees what Tanya is doing and takes Tanya’s place in the realm to save her.

  6. Conflict/Resolution • How did Morwenna Bloom disappear?? • Tanya and Fabian vs. Morwenna Bloom and the Faeries • The conflict gets resolved because the kids figure out that the faeries took Morwenna Bloom and Red saves Tanya from the faeries in the forest.

  7. Theme • The main theme of the story is that if you make an important choice, make sure you think it through before you say that this is your decision. • This represents the book because Morwenna Bloom wanted to go into the faerie realm even though she thought she knew she would be lost in there forever. Later, she regrets her choice.

  8. Personal Book Review This is a great book! I suggest anyone read it looking for adventure. Although this is a great book, I would not suggest it for your next ARP book because it is a very confusing book and it’s hard to explain. So with such a great book I hope more people get to read it. Hopefully you’ll like it!!!
